Large Scale Artwork
Project Description
Our customer is a recognized artist in the world of interactive sculptures and light forms. Their award winning art-form is a result of their ability to push the limits of a process and challenge the process. The customer has eye for aesthetically pleasing forms so it was challenging to create what was expected in the short time frame that it was required within. However through perseverance and collaboration with the customer we were able to make their vision a reality.
Below is a short video showing a large scale installation of the product. There are various electronic components that the customer installed inside of the rotomolded pieces and then encased them with an exotic reflective material. There are 3 different rotomolded shapes that were manufactured to create this installation.
This is another interactive art-form that was created prior to the project above. This was a challenging part initially due to the nature of the top surface being large and flat. It was critical to the customer that were able to achieve a flat surface and a complex cooling process was developed to maintain this shape.
As part of the customers own assembly, there are pressure sensors installed below the surface of the plastic. They gathered data from the use of the product which showed that on average, a part was able to with stand 1 million jumps before it showed signs of needing replacement. Which is a testament to the durability of rotomolded plastics.
